the BCS "championship" game

I sort of watched the BCS 'championship' game (several other bowl games) and couldn't help but think that these teams were all terrible. The leap between the quality of play in the NFL and the pokey college game is phenomenal.

On the flip side, interesting/entertaining things happen way less frequently in the NFL, and the players seem to be playing with less heart and WAY less loyalty to their team/teammates.

That's why I'll always be a fan of college sports over the pros.

...plus, when your team is the SF 49ers, you don't have much to cheer about anyway.

The frequency of plays that are supposedly interesting is mostly a result of the larger number of games that get played in college versus the NFL. As for heart and loyalty, either people are playing hard because they want to win or they aren't playing hard. And in college, playing hard is at a much lower skill level, which renders the overall quality of play much lower. Plus, there are way more stupid mistakes made in college games that make it painful to sit through.
