in Denver

I'm in Denver this week. Sarcastic e-mails not appreciated.

However, since people are interested, I'll note that I got a soda from the vending machine here in the Denver office. The can had an add for Superman Returns coming out in June. Ok, so my soda is a few months old. It's no big deal.

Wait a second. Superman Returns came out last year. I checked the rest of the can and the date on the bottom of the can said March 5, 2007. Whatever. It tasted fine.

When the items can not be sold at the market due to "sold by" date has passed, they are removed from the shelf and are loaded into the vending machines.

This is how the distributors get rid of their unsold expired inventory. Instead of destroying them, they sold them by the tons and cheap to the third party or the vending machine owners who have them scatter around in all places and locations.

Along come the suckers like you who put the money into the machine to buy the high price unhealthy junk food. To the vending machine owners, it doesn't matter, junk food is junk food whether it is expired or not!

At least you can check the expiration date before you make your purchase at the supermarket. Tap water never has an expiration date!!
