more snow

It snowed last night! And now the skies are clear and it's bitterly cold.

This cold front has really hammered up some of the rigs we do work for. I guess those boys out of Louisiana, Mississippi, and south Texas get to learn the hard way what happens in the single digits.

It is too late in life for me to be contemplating a career change to find out for myself, so why don't you just tell us all what happens to rigs in the single digits.

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Well, if they're not careful, everything on the rig freezes.

It's too late in life for me to use my brain intelligently, so how do you keep everything from freezing beside pouring boiling water on it?

You keep things moving or you keep them drained. If there's a line full of fluid and you know it's going to sit still for more than a couple minutes, then you need to drain that line. The smaller the line, the less time it can sit still.
